Yesterday I read that the children of Facebook's first users are all grown up now, and they hate that their parents have been posting their pictures and personal information all their lives. Some of them are suing to have their privacy back, and some have sued the parents who monetized their content.

Reading that article, I felt convicted about my own practice of street photography. Some people are happy to pose for me, others get upset about me taking their photos. This young man clearly didn't want his picture taken. I should've respected his boundary. Maybe from now on before we photograph our kids, and definitely before we publish their pictures, we should ask the them if it's OK.
